Bank Account Online Registration for Tuition Fee

The registration period for AY 2024 Spring Semester is April 3 to May 6, 2024.

Direct debit date for AY 2024 Spring Semester tuition fees is May 27, 2024.

※ Please make a deposit by the day before the direct debit date.

This page explains how to register your bank account online to pay tuition fees by direct debit.
Nagoya University uses The Mitsubishi UFJ Factors Limited for its payment collection services. Please see below for details about registration.

 

Check Before Registration

Students who need to register a bank account

◆ Students who have newly enrolled at or transferred to Nagoya University this academic year.

◆ Students advancing from a Nagoya University master's program to a doctoral program this academic year.

◆ Students advancing from a Nagoya University undergraduate program to a master's program this academic year.

◆ Students who wish to change their registered bank account.

◆ Students who are applying for tuition exemption.

※ If you are applying for tuition exemption, the direct debit will not be taken. No direct debit will be taken until after you have been notified of the outcome of your tuition fee exemption application.

◆ If you have not yet arrived in Japan and do not have a Japanese bank account, please register your bank account online upon arriving in Japan.

Others

◆ Please register a bank account under either you, your parents/guardian, or a guarantor's name.

◆ The following devices, operating systems, and internet browsers are supported:

Registration Checklist

Please prepare the following items.

◆ Nagoya University Student ID Number (please check your Student ID Card)

◆ Student's date of birth (Western calendar)

◆ Account information for the bank account you are registering (bankbook, etc.)

◆ Information necessary to verify your identity at your bank.

※Please note that the PIN you entered for identity verification at your bank is required to verify your identity at this bank. It will not be sent to Nagoya University.

Important Information

◆ Some financial institutions may also have differing times for when registration is not available.

◆ If you are inactive for an extended period in any section, you will be timed out.

◆ Please be sure to complete all steps until you reach the Registration Complete page. If you stop partway through, the registration process will not be completed.

◆ After registering, you will receive an email notifying you that your registration is complete.

◆ Registration is only complete when the Registration Complete page is displayed.

◆ Please make a note of the registered account information so that you do not forget it.

◆ If you forget to register during the online registration period, your tuition fee will not be paid because the direct debit cannot be taken. Please make sure to register by deadline.

 

Deregistration

◆ The President may, when a student falls under any of the following items, deregister a student, through discussion with the faculty council of the relevant school:
If the student neglects their duty to pay tuition, and, after receiving a demand for payment, still fails to make payment.

Q1: What do I need to register a bank account online for Tuition Fees?

A1: Please have your student ID number and the date of birth of the student, plus your bank account details and cash card. You may be asked for your cash card PIN when verifying your identity.

 

Q2: Can I register a bank account that is not in my name?

A2: Yes. You can register an account in your name, in your parent(s)' or guardian(s)' name, or in your guarantor's name.

Q5: Can I register an online bank (sealless) account?

A5: Please check here (The Mitsubishi UFJ Factors Limited) for details. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email from the financial institution, so please respond accordingly.

 

Q6: When I authenticate myself on a financial institution website, I am asked for the PIN number of the cash card. I did not make a cash card when I opened the account. What should I do?

A6: Please contact your financial institution and apply for a cash card, then register again. Entry of the cash card PIN is necessary for personal authentication.

 

Q7: I'm worried about entering my PIN number of the cash card.

A7: The PIN you enter will not be disclosed to the university, nor will it be confirmed by the university.
Please check the personal authentication service of the financial institution and register the PIN.

 

Q8: Can I change my account once registered?

A8: You can change it during the online registration period.

 

Q9: Do you support non-smartphones?

A9: No. Only smart mobile devices are supported. Please register using a PC, smartphone or tablet.

 

Q10: Do I have to register a bank account online every year?

A10: No. The registration is valid until you graduate. If you proceed to the next academic level (a master's or doctoral course), you will be issued a new Student ID Number and will need to re-register with that number.

 

Q11: I went from undergraduate to graduate school. I use the same bank account.
Do I need to re-register?

A11: Yes. You need to re-register with your new student ID number.

 

Q12: I applied for a tuition exemption. Is it necessary to register a bank account online?

A12: Yes. You need to register. No direct debit will be taken from you while your application is being considered. Depending on the result of your application, it may be taken once you have been notified of the result.

 

Q13: I am an international student who has not yet arrived in Japan.
I can't open a bank account yet. What should I do?

A13: Please open a bank account after arriving in Japan, and then register during the online registration period.

 

Q14: How will it be recorded in my bank book after the direct debit?

A14: When the direct debit is made, it will appear in your bank book as "DF.ナゴヤダイガ(DF. Nagoya Univ.)" or similar.
