Nagoya University Receives "A" Rating in Top Global University (TGU) Project Assessment

Nagoya University's initiative to become an "Asian Hub University for Building a Sustainable World in the 21st Century," has received an "A" rating in the post-project assessment of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's (MEXT) Top Global University Project (TGU Project). This rating represents the second highest level in the five-tier evaluation system and recognizes our achievements among the selected institutions (13 "Top Type" and 24 "Global Traction Type" universities).

The evaluation, conducted at the conclusion of the SGU Project (2014-2023), highlighted several key accomplishments. Nagoya University earned recognition as a true Asian hub university through multiple initiatives: establishing physical campuses at strategic partner universities under our Global Multi-Campus vision; advancing internationalization by developing Japan's most extensive Joint Degree Program network (encompassing seven majors and 17 courses); and implementing specialized programs such as the National Core Human Resource Development Program through our Asian Satellite Campuses Institute.

Building on this success, Nagoya University has secured selection for MEXT's "Social Impact Creation Support Project through University Internationalization (Overseas Expansion Type)" in 2024. It is committed to continuing and enhancing the initiatives pioneered during the TGU Project, furthering our university's international presence and impact as we move forward.
