Nagoya University Formula Team Wins Overall Victory in the 12th Student Formula Japan Competition

Nagoya University Formula Team FEM won the overall victory in the 12th Student Formula Japan Competition, held in the Ogasayama Sports Park ECOPA in Shizuoka Prefecture between September 2 (Tue) and 6 (Sat), 2014.

This competition, hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, is an event in which formula-type racing cars for which students have formulated a plan, designed, and produced compete in terms of comprehensive manufacturing and craftsmanship strength. Cars are reviewed and scored for each category of their "static" aspects, which are documentation, safety inspection, cost-effectiveness, presentation, and design, as well as of their "dynamic" aspects, which are acceleration, skid-pads, autocross, endurance, and fuel efficiency.

In this year's competition, the Nagoya University Formula Team FEM took first place in the presentation and endurance categories, and won their first overall victory with 891.49 out of 1,000 points in total.
