On Monday, February 17, 2025, Nagoya University and the Aichi Cancer Center signed a Comprehensive Agreement on Further Strengthening Collaboration at the Aichi Prefectural Guest House. This agreement strengthened and expanded the partnership initially established through two previous agreements in October 2018 and October 2023. The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from Aichi Prefecture, the Aichi Cancer Center, and Nagoya University, including President Naoshi Sugiyama.
This new comprehensive agreement enhances the partnership by formally incorporating Nagoya University Hospital into the collaborative framework. As a result, both institutions have established the "Nagoya University-Aichi Cancer Center (NU-ACC) Alliance for Cancer Innovation," creating an integrated research initiative. By leveraging each institution's unique strengths and establishing specialized roles, the alliance aims to advance cutting-edge cancer research and optimize hospital resources and capabilities. These coordinated efforts are expected to establish a world-class hub for advanced cancer research in the Tokai region, centered in Aichi Prefecture, and drive significant innovations in cancer treatment and prevention methodologies.
