Ambassador of India to Japan visits Nagoya University to give lecture, meet faculty and students

We were delighted to welcome His Excellency Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, to Nagoya University on Monday April 15th. The Ambassador's visit follows on the heels of Nagoya University's successful hosting of PGPEX program students from India in partnership with JICA last month.

The Ambassador spent an afternoon at Nagoya University, during which time he had a packed schedule. He met with Nagoya University representatives including President Naoshi Sugiyama, was introduced to key research by our scientists, and gave a lecture at the Symposion Hall entitled India - Japan Special Relationship: Priorities, in which he discussed the history of India - Japan relations and key areas for the two countries to cooperate on in the 21st century.

Finally, the Ambassador kindly spent time in a roundtable discussion with our Indian students, finding out about their studies and research. Thank you to Ambassador George for taking the time to visit Nagoya University, and thank you to our Indian students and researchers for being part of the vibrant and diverse Nagoya University community.
