Graduate School of Environmental Studies Student Receives Prize in the Wood House Design Grand Prix 2018

Mr. Yuki Kataoka, a second year master's program student of Nagoya University's Graduate School of Environmental Studies, has received an Honorable Mention and the Horibe Yasushi Award in the Wood House Design Grand Prix, hosted by Taniguchi Koumuten, a contractor specializing in wooden houses.

 

Young aspiring architects (architecture students) participating in the contest display models of their house design and give a presentation of their work to Japan's leading architects. Ten models are selected to reach the final round, where the finalists give another presentation to the audience before the prize-winning models are determined. This year, Mr. Kataoka's design was selected as a prize winning model from a total of 333 entries. His work is available on the following website:
