Details of the AY2019 Entrance Ceremony

The Nagoya University AY2019 Entrance Ceremony will be held as follows:

 

 

 

 

 

Date/Time

April 5 (Fri), 2019

The ceremonies for graduate students and undergraduate students will be held at different times:

● 9:30 am to around 10:20 am for all new graduate students
● Around 11:00 am to 11:50 am for new undergraduate students of the Schools of Humanities, Law, Economics, Science, and Medicine

● Around 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm for new undergraduate students of the Schools of Education, Informatics, Engineering, and Agricultural Sciences 

Location

Toyoda Auditorium, Nagoya University Higashiyama Campus

(Near Nagoya University [Nagoya Daigaku] Station Exit 2 on the Meijo Subway Line)

 

Notes:

1. New graduate students must enter Toyoda Auditorium by 9:10 am.

  New undergraduate students of the Schools of Humanities, Law, Economics, Science,

  and Medicine must enter Toyoda Auditorium by 10:45 am.

  New undergraduate students of the Schools of Education, Informatics, Engineering, and Agricultural Sciences must enter Toyoda Auditorium by 12:45 pm.

 

2. The guests of students may not enter the auditorium, but they can watch a live broadcast of the ceremony from inside specially designated lecture rooms*1 in the Law & Economics Shared Facilities Building and the IB Building on-campus, where special waiting rooms have been set up.

 

  *1  For the guests of the new graduate students, only the room set up in the Law & Economics Shared Facilities Building is available as a waiting room.

 

3. Please use public transportation (subway or bus) when coming to the University.

Cars, motorcycles, bicycles etc. will not be allowed to enter the campus, as there is not enough space. Parking in the parking spaces of nearby convenience stores and other shops and businesses is also prohibited.

  • From around 10:30 am             Address by Nagoya University President (explanations about the University given at the special waiting room for guests)
  • 11:00 am to 11:50 am      Entrance ceremony for undergraduate students (1) of the Schools of Humanities, Law, Economics, Science, and Medicine
  • From around noon                  Address by Nagoya University President (explanations about the University given at the special waiting rooms for guests)
  • From 12:40 pm                    Briefing session for guests (Schools of Law, Economics, and Science) *2
  • 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm         Entrance ceremony for undergraduate students (2) of the Schools of Education, Informatics, Engineering, and Agricultural Sciences
  • From around 2:00 pm                Address by Nagoya University President (explanations about the University given at the special waiting rooms for guests)
  • From 2.40 pm                      Briefing session for guests (Schools of Education and Agricultural Sciences) *2 

 

Please note that there might be small changes in the schedule based on the progress of the ceremonies.
