The Nagoya University Center for Asian Legal Exchange (CALE), one of the world's leading networks for the promotion of legal assistance to Asian countries, has been recognized for its contribution to legal development with a certificate of gratitude from the Vietnam Ministry of Justice. Deputy Minister of Justice Her Excellency Dang Hoang Oanh [2003], herself a graduate of Nagoya University, presented the certificate to CALE director Professor Masako Murakami in a ceremony on September 20th 2023 attended by President Naoshi Sugiyama and twelve Vietnamese students currently enrolled in the Nagoya University Graduate School of Law. The Nagoya University Research and Education Center for Japanese Law is located at the Hanoi Law University, which is operated by the Ministry of Justice. CALE plays a vital role in training legal human resources for rapidly developing Asian nations, and is building a global network of the brightest next-generation legal minds from its base at Nagoya University.
Also in attendance were Dr. Vu Thi Lan Anh, Vice Rector, and Dr. Phan Thi Lan Huong [2012], Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, Hanoi Law University.
