A Nagoya University-led consortium has been selected for the FY2017 EDGE-NEXT Program of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). EDGE-NEXT (Exploration and Development of Global Entrepreneurship for NEXT generation) is a program that aims to train individuals who are eager to start an enterprise or create a new business on the basis of the achievements obtained by the entrepreneurship initiatives and research and development activities of universities in various regions, with the goal of forming start-up ecosystems consisting of related persons and institutions.
Nagoya University will systematically implement entrepreneurial education and training in fulfilling its role as the lead institution and headquarters of the five-university consortium for industry-academia collaboration in the Tokai Region, which is comprised of Nagoya University, Toyohashi University of Technology, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Gifu University, and Mie University.
