At present, COVID-19 cases are rising dramatically nationwide, particularly among young people. States of emergency have been declared or extended in several regions across Japan, and quasi-emergency measures have been instituted in Aichi Prefecture as well.
At Nagoya University, we have repeatedly called on everyone to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including avoiding the 3Cs, wearing masks, and sanitizing hands. We have also moved to vaccinate as many students, faculty and staff members as possible by launching an on-campus vaccination site at Toyoda Auditorium.
Now, as we enter summer vacation and the Obon holidays, I ask that you continue to avoid unnecessary and non-urgent travel, and now more than ever, please refrain from acting in ways that may place yourself and those around you at risk. Even if you are fully vaccinated, please take utmost care to maintain infection prevention measures.
Please do your part in these cumulative efforts so that we can all return to our normal lives. Thank you.
