Prof. Masahito Hayashi and Prof. Yoshikatsu Matsubayashi Selected to Receive AY2015 JSPS Prize

Masahito Hayashi, Professor of the Graduate School of Mathematics, as well as Yoshikatsu Matsubayashi, Professor of the Graduate School of Science, Nagoya University, have been selected to receive the 12th (AY2015) Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Prize.

 

This Prize aims to recognize, at an early stage, researchers with fresh ideas who have the potential to become world leaders or candidates for the Nobel Prize in their fields, thus providing them with opportunities to further advance and achieve breakthroughs in their research.

 

The subjects of Prof. Hayashi and Prof. Matsubayashi's prize-winning research projects were, respectively, "Information Theory and Quantum Information Theory for Finite-Coding-Length," and "Identification of Novel Peptide Hormones Involved in Plant Growth and Environmental Responses."
