Assistant Professor Mika Nomoto Wins L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents 2019

Assistant Professor Mika Nomoto of the Nagoya University Center for Gene Research has been selected as a recipient of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents 2019, according to an announcement by L'Oréal Foundation, a France-based cosmetics company group, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This award aims to support and encourage promising young women scientists in such fields as life science, physical science, engineering, and mathematics.

 

For Assistant Professor Nomoto, the winning of this award will be a new outstanding achievement after winning the 2018 L'Oréal-UNESCO Japan National Fellowship for Women in Science, promoted by Nihon L'Oréal. She will become the fourth Japanese recipient of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talents. The award ceremony was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on March 14 (local time), 2019.
