On September 30, 2026, two representatives from Yale University’s Office of International Affairs—Senior Associate Provost Brendan Walsh and Associate Director Devin Lau—visited Nagoya University to explore opportunities for academic partnership and collaboration. They were welcomed by Vice-President Yoshiyuki Suto; Tadashi Sonoda, Vice-Presidential Adviser and Professor at the Graduate School of Economics; Matthew Linley, Vice-Presidential Adviser and Vice-Director of the Global Multi-Campus Institute (GMC); and Yasuhiko Taniguchi, Designated Professor at the GMC.

At the meeting, held at Toyoda Auditorium, the two sides discussed prospects for building on both institutions’ strengths through research collaboration and partnerships with industry, particularly in engineering.
