Professor Katsutoshi Nagaoka of the Department of Chemical Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, has been selected for Deep Tech Startup International Expansion Program (D-Global). This program is supported through the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)’s New Industry Creation Fund for University Startups.
The D-Global program supports the development of deep tech startups built around university-originated technologies with the potential for significant social and economic impact, including international market expansion. Selected projects are co-led by a commercialization-promoting organization and a principal investigator, who work together under a shared project management framework to meet both commercialization and research and development milestones.
Professor Nagaoka’s project, titled “Social implementation of innovative ammonia synthesis catalysts through novel synthesis and mass production technologies,” will be carried out in partnership with STATION Ai Corporation as the commercialization-promoting organization. Professor Nagaoka, who also holds a concurrent appointment at the Research Center for Net-Zero Carbon Society of Nagoya University’s Institutes of Innovation for Future Society, serves as principal investigator.
