On July 3, 2026, Nagoya University held a ceremony to commemorate the naming of the Suzuyo Mirai Square located on the second floor of the Nagoya University Central Library. The new name was decided based on a naming rights agreement with Suzuyo & Co., Ltd., a company whose head office is located in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Nagoya University has been expanding its use of naming rights contracts to increase revenue and enhance its educational and research activities. This is Nagoya University’s tenth naming rights partnership. The four-year agreement runs from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2030.

Suzuyo began business as a cargo wholesaler at the Port of Shimizu in 1801 and has grown alongside the local community over the years, guided by the management principle of “tomoiki” (coexistence). Today, the company operates a wide range of logistics businesses, including domestic logistics, international logistics, and port logistics, in addition to related logistics information services. Outside the logistics field, the company’s operations also include data solutions and leasing services.

The ceremony was attended by Suzuyo’s Managing Director Kazutoshi Suzuki, Nagoya University’s Vice President Shogo Kimura, and the Library Director, Kumiko Kato.

Moving forward, Nagoya University will continue to utilize naming rights agreements to support education and research, enhancing student life across the university.
