Graduate School of Education and Human Development Associate Professor Takahiro Kondo and Graduate School of Science Professor Naoshi Sugiyama were selected for the 3rd (FY2006) JSPS Prize.

Under the 2nd Science and Technology Basic Plan (approved by the Cabinet Office in March 2011), JSPS Prizes aim to identify outstanding young researchers early in their careers, and to provide recognition to increase their motivation to conduct original, leading-edge research. It also aims to raise the international profile of Japanese research. The Prize was established by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science in FY2004.

Associate Professor Kondo was awarded for his research entitled ‘Comparative Study on History Education Policies as Factors in International Relations’, while Professor Sugiyama was selected for this research entitled ‘Theoretical Studies on Cosmic Microwave Background’.
