Nagoya University’s Project for ‘Center of Innovation’ Program Receives Highest Score

The Center of Innovation (COI) Program is a support program led by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) for industry-academia collaborative research and development (R&D). Currently, 18 platforms, including Nagoya University-led Mobility Innovation Center, have been selected for the COI program throughout Japan. The COI’s Visionary Team conducted an interim assessment at the time of Phase 2’s completion in FY2018 (Phase 1 started in FY2013 and 3 will conclude in FY2021). The Mobility Innovation Center, aiming to empower an aging society through advanced mobility, obtained the highest score of "S+." This is an outstanding achievement comparable to the highest scores of "S" that Nagoya University has received from the MEXT’s World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) and Top Global University Project.
