Nagoya University Graduate School of Engineering holds symposium to commemorate opening of new Crystal Engineering Research Center

On November 9th, 2023, the Nagoya University Graduate School of Engineering held a symposium to celebrate the opening of its new Crystal Engineering Research Center.

The Center will focus on the further development of Nagoya University’s expertise in crystal engineering, utilizing the skills of researchers in not only the fields of physics and chemistry, but also informatics and mathematics, to supercharge the physical and analytical aspects of the research. The three key focal points of the Center’s research will be materials design, synthesis, and quantum beam measurement.

Professor Tomoaki Yamada speaks at the Symposium

At the symposium, sixteen Nagoya University researchers gave lectures on their own research and the state of crystal engineering research as a whole. These researchers came not only from the Graduate School of Engineering but also from the Center for Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS) and Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, other Nagoya University research centers with whom the Crystal Engineering Research Center will closely cooperate with.

The establishment of the Crystal Engineering Research Center represents further confirmation of Nagoya University’s commitment to remain at the cutting edge of engineering research that is vital to creating a bright future for the world we live in.
