37 Emeritus Professors chosen for 2024

In a ceremony at the Toyoda Auditorium on May 10th, 2024, 37 former Nagoya University professors were awarded the title of Emeritus Professor. Emeritus Professors are chosen on their length of service (over seven years in the position of Professor) and significant contributions to education and/or research at the university.

Nagoya University President Naoshi Sugiyama presented the professors with their titles and offered his thanks to them for their contributions. Former Nagoya University Vice-President Hiroko Tsukamura, made Emeritus Professor this year, gave an address on behalf of the assembled receipients.

A reception was held following the ceremony for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, which was attended by over 90 Emeritus Professors from over the years.
