On March 3, 2026, Nagoya University’s Graduate School of Engineering and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) held a signing ceremony to formalize a joint supervision program agreement. The ceremony took place at the ES Hall on Nagoya University’s Higashiyama Campus and marked a significant milestone in the partnership, which dates back to an academic cooperation agreement signed in 2008.

Under the new program, doctoral students enrolled at the respective departments at either university will receive research supervision from faculty at both institutions. Upon fulfilling the degree requirements of their home university, students will be awarded a degree by that institution. The program covers advanced engineering fields in which Nagoya University holds particular strength, including nitride semiconductor power electronics, low-temperature plasma science, biomedical engineering, chemistry, mechanical systems, and aerospace engineering.

Following the signing ceremony, the two universities co-hosted a joint workshop titled “Japan-Taiwan Helical Assembly of Spiral-Rotational Growth,” featuring research presentations across four sessions: Electronics, Biomedical, Chemistry, and Mechanics & Aerospace.

Participants sit auditorium-style seating during the event.
