Professor Nobuo Fukuwa Selected to Receive the 2019 Disaster Management Award from Japanese Prime Minister

Professor Nobuo Fukuwa, Director of the Disaster Mitigation Research Center at Nagoya University, has been selected to receive the 2019 Disaster Management Award from the Japanese Prime Minister in recognition of his significant contributions to the improvement of disaster management systems, according to an announcement by the Japanese Cabinet Office on September 18, 2019.

This award is presented to groups and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to disaster response activities, such as saving lives and preventing the spread of damage, in times of disaster; and the dissemination of ideas for disaster management and the improvement of disaster management systems in times of non-crisis.
