Associate Professor Yuki Kawaguchi Selected to Receive the 1st Fumiko Yonezawa Memorial Prize of the Physical Society of Japan

Associate Professor Yuki Kawaguchi of the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University, has been selected to receive the 1st Fumiko Yonezawa Memorial Prize, according to an announcement by the Physical Society of Japan (JPS) on February 17, 2020. This prize has been established to recognize and encourage female JPS members’ efforts in physics.

Associate Professor Kawaguchi’s prize-winning research concerns the "theoretical studies on cold atomic Bose-Einstein condensates with internal degrees of freedom." The award ceremony will be held on March 18, 2020, at the Toyoda Auditorium, Nagoya University, prior to the General Lecture of the 75th JPS Annual Meeting.
