Professor Takashi Yoshimura and Designated Associate Professor Masao Katsuno Win JSPS Prizes

Dr. Takashi Yoshimura , a professor at the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, and Dr. Masao Katsuno, a Designated Associate Professor at the Institute for Advanced Research, were selected for the 5th (FY2008) JSPS Prize.

JSPS Prizes aim to identify outstanding young researchers early in their careers and provide them with recognition to increase their motivation to conduct original, leading-edge research. It also aims to raise the international profile of Japanese research.

Professor Yoshimura’s award-winning research was entitled ‘Seasonal Clock Percepts of Spring in Vertebrates – Quail as a Model Animal’, while Designated Associate Professor Katsuno was recognized for his work on ‘Development of Pathogenesis-Based Therapy for Neurodegenerative Diseases’.
