The winners of the 10th Bioindustry Research Award were announced in July, and Designated Associate Professor Yohei Takahashi (Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules) was selected as one of the recipients.
Takahashi received the award for his research on the identification and application of stomatal CO2 sensors in plants.
The Japan Bioindustry Association established the Bioindustry Research Award and the Japan Bioindustry Award in 2017 to commemorate its 30th anniversary and to look ahead to the next 30 years: a new age of cutting-edge research in the field of biotechnology. The Research Award recognizes the achievements of promising young researchers for application-oriented work that relates to bioscience or biotechnology.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 7 at BioJapan 2026, an international bio-industry partnering event held in Yokohama.
