Two Nagoya University researchers elected to US National Academy of Sciences

Two plant biologists from Nagoya University’s Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules (WPI-ITbM) have been elected to the National Academy of Sciences in the USA.

Professor Wolf Frommer is Overseas Principal Investigator at ITbM, and Professor at Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf and Max Planck Institute for Breeding Research, Köln. His work at Nagoya University focuses on biosensors, transporter proteins and the interactions between plants and their environment.

Professor Keiko Torii is an ITbM Collaborating Researcher, and Professor at The University of Texas at Austin. Her work at Nagoya University, in collaboration with the Shimotohno Group at ITbM, focuses on understanding and controlling the mechanism behind stomatal development.
