Prof. Kenichiro Itami at the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules Receives the Nagase Prize

Professor Kenichiro Itami, Director of the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules, Nagoya University, has received the 6th Nagase Prize.

The Nagase Prizes, established in 2011, are awarded by the Frontier Salon Foundation to world-leading young researchers who have accomplished outstanding scientific achievements for the future of humanity. The prize is named after Mr. Akiyuki Nagase, the Founder of Nagase Brothers Inc., who established the Frontier Salon Foundation through his donations. The winner of the Nagase Prize receives a prize of 20 million yen and the opportunity to give special lectures to high school students.

The award ceremony and special lectures to 1,000 high school students were held at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo on September 23, 2016.
