Tokai Higher Education and Research System holds ceremony for ‘Educational Good Practice’ award

On August 26, 2025, an award ceremony for the Chancellor’s Special Award for Educational Good Practice was held at Nagoya University. Established in 2023, this award aims to inspire faculty at Nagoya University and Gifu University to become passionate about education and to elevate the quality of their classes. This year, two classes at Nagoya University and one class at Gifu University were recognized as exemplary for having particularly excellent results.

The award ceremony was attended the three awardees Gifu University Professor Osamu Sakurada, Nagoya University Associate Professor Muhammet Uyanik, and Nagoya University Professor Shogo Tanimura, along with Tokai Higher Education and Research System (THERS) Chancellor Seiichi Matsuo, Nagoya University Vice President Ichiro Terasaki, and Gifu University Vice President Makoto Sugiyama.

First, Vice President Terasaki explained the reasons that each class was selected for the award, after which the award certificates and prizes were presented to the awardees. Chancellor Matsuo then expressed his gratitude in a short speech, saying “Students’ memories of their university studies stay with them and sustain them throughout their lives. We hope that both universities will share their wonderful achievements and build on them to continue improving.” Next, there was a reception for the ceremony participants, and a commemorative photo was taken.
