Nagoya University Emeritus Professor Toshio Fukuda Elected as 2019 IEEE President-Elect

Nagoya University Emeritus Professor Toshio Fukuda (currently a professor of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Meijo University) has been elected as the 2019 IEEE President-Elect, and will serve as the 2020 IEEE President. He is the first Asian person to be elected to this position.

IEEE (pronounced "Eye-triple-E"), which stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., is a US-based public corporation with approximately 423,000 members from over 160 countries worldwide, and is the world’s largest technical professional organization playing leading roles in the fields of computers, biology, communications, electricity, aviation, electronics, etc.
