Toshiko Terakawa, lecturer of the Earthquake and Volcano Research Center of the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University, has been selected to receive the 38th Saruhashi Prize in 2018.
The prize is one of Japan’s leading prizes for female scientists, with a 38-year history since its establishment in 1980. It is awarded in May of every year by the Association for the Bright Future of Women Scientists to a female scientist under the age of 50 who has achieved distinguished advances in natural science.
The subject of Lecturer Terakawa’s award-winning research project is the "Study on crustal stress and pore fluid pressure governing seismicity."
The award ceremony will be held in Tokyo on May 26 (Sat), 2018.
