Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research certified as International Joint Research Center

Nagoya University’s Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE) has been certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an International Joint Research Center. The first to be certified at Nagoya University, and the seventh such institute in the country, ISEE will receive focused support to maximise its research resources and strengthen its role in Japan’s foundational academic capabilities.

ISEE was established in 2015, and aims to contribute to solving global environmental problems and the development of our relationship with space, by viewing the earth, sun and space as a single system and elucidating the mechanisms and interrelationships of the complex phenomena that occur there.
