Two Nagoya University Programs Selected for the FY2016 ‘Re-Inventing Japan Project

Two programs proposed by Nagoya University were selected for the FY2016 "Re-Inventing Japan Project — Strengthening the Framework for Inter-University Exchange in Asian Countries."

The Re-Inventing Japan Project aims to produce internationally-active graduates and reinforce the expansion of globalized university education. The project was established (by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan) with the objective of providing financial support to engage in international educational collaborative programs with universities in Asia, the United States, Europe, etc. that include study abroad programs for Japanese students and the strategic acceptance of international students, while assuring quality in higher education.

In FY2016, the following programs were selected for the aforementioned project and received financial support to implement quality-assured exchange programs with universities in Asian countries.

Type A: Promotion of the CAMPUS Asia (CA) Project

The project aims to form consortiums with universities in China and South Korea, and to implement educational collaborative programs through CA as agreed upon between Japan, China, and South Korea.

Type A-I: Advanced initiatives based on the achievements of the CA pilot program

Type A-II: New initiatives for CA

Type B: Promotion of Inter-University Exchange in the ASEAN Region

The project aims to implement educational collaborative programs in the ASEAN Region particularly with universities in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam that have as of yet had little experience with inter-university exchange (this includes projects that also involve educational collaborative programs with countries other than these.)
