The Global Multi-campus Institute (GMC) was established in April 2025 through the merger of Nagoya University’s former International Headquarters to implement the university’s global strategy more effectively. Since launching the GMC project in 2022, the university has designated four Strategic Partner Universities (SPUs).
The GMC oversees international strategy, public relations, and student exchange programs, and includes the Asia Collaborative Development Department, which focuses on strengthening partnerships with institutions in the region. The GMC coordinates operations at overseas bases where university faculty and staff work with partner institutions, and manages student exchange programs supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s internationalization funding through 2029.
