The Nagoya University Center for Higher Education Research was established on April 9, 1998, as an on-campus joint education and research facility.
It is a small department consisting of a director (concurrent appointment), four full-time faculty members, and several specially appointed faculty and staff members. Its mission is to strategically contribute to the development of higher education from an international perspective, providing knowledge based on the results of research and development and participating in problem-solving. Through these efforts, it aims to improve the quality of Nagoya University and higher education institutions, and to contribute to society through higher education institutions.
On June 10, 2010, the Center was certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an educational-related joint-use institute (an institution that provides organized training for university faculty and staff).
