The “Multicultural Campus Project toward Social Impact” is a national initiative by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) aimed at strengthening the international competitiveness of Japanese universities. This program supports universities in creating diverse, sustainable frameworks that foster global talent development, promote study abroad opportunities, and enhance the acceptance of excellent international students, ultimately contributing to Japan’s educational excellence on the world stage.
Nagoya University’s project, titled “Transforming Society through Multicultural Education on the Global Multi-campus,” represents an ambitious six-year program (2024-2030) designed to transform international education through strategic partnerships and overseas campus infrastructure. Building on Nagoya University’s Academic Charter principle of cultivating “courageous intellectuals,” this initiative leverages our established overseas presence to create comprehensive multicultural co-learning opportunities. The program aims to develop students who can address global challenges with interdisciplinary and multifaceted perspectives through active participation in domestic and international educational exchanges.
