Message of condolence from the President of Nagoya University for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria

On behalf of Nagoya University, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victims of the earthquake that struck south-east Turkey and northern Syria, to the injured, affected and evacuated, to their families and to all those affected. We pray for the speedy recovery of those affected as well as for the physical and mental well-being of those working so hard to save lives and provide relief.

Nagoya University has signed inter-university and inter-departmental academic exchange agreements with three universities in Turkey, and has a history of accepting students from Turkey and Syria. In cooperation with the institutions concerned, we are committed to providing support to help those people most affected by this hardship.

Naoshi Sugiyama

President of Nagoya University
