Nagoya University, with authorization from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, will reorganize the departments of the Graduate School of International Development beginning in April 2018. Under the new structure, the Graduate School will expand education and research in closer cooperation with international society’s development goals, with the aim of cultivating human resources capable of playing active roles on the global stage in the future.

The structure of the Graduate School will be reorganized from two departments offering six programs into one department offering five programs, in order to make its contents of education and research more responsive to changes in international society’s development goals.

In the Tokai Region, one of Japan’s manufacturing bases, as more and more companies are expected to expand their businesses overseas, there has been an increasing demand for developing human resources capable of responding to such expectations. Against this background, the Graduate School will establish the Special Program for Global Business Professionals, a special course for working adults (1-year master’s course), for the purpose of developing human resources capable of playing active roles in businesses overseas.

The Graduate School will establish the Global Leaders Career Course in master’s course with the aim of cultivating global human resources capable of playing active roles in international organizations, etc. In this course, students will acquire the expertise necessary to be global leaders, by taking additional special subjects in combination with the subjects found in ordinary educational program.
