On Thursday October 31, a delegation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one of Nagoya University’s partners in China, led by President Ding Kuiling, paid a courtesy visit to Nagoya University. President Sugiyama and President Ding signed an agreement to establish a Strategic Cooperation Consulting Committee and agreed that the two universities will work to further strengthen cooperation.
President Ding, who is also a chemistry researcher, stayed at Nagoya University as a visiting professor in 2003. During this visit, there was an opportunity to renew old friendships between President Ding and Distinguished Professor and Nobel Laureate Ryoji Noyori.
