Professor Noriko Sugiyama accepts Climate Change Action Prize on behalf of Global Covenant of Mayors Japan

The Global Covenant of Mayors Japan, headquartered at Nagoya University and administered by Professor Noriko Sugiyama of the Graduate School of Environmental Science, has been awarded the Minister of the Environment’s Climate Change Action Prize. Professor Sugiyama accepted the award on behalf of the Covenant at a ceremony on December 4th, 2023.

The prize is awarded to individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to advancing the issues and policies that address the challenges posed by climate change, and was also awarded to the 47 local authorities across the country that make up the Covenant.
