Nagoya University hosts PGPEX-VLM Workshop 2025

On March 14-17, 2025, Nagoya University brought together participants from Japan and India to host a workshop in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The workshop was attended by 40 students from India and 27 participants from Japan, including employees of local companies.

This workshop was part of a master’s program jointly run by the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Conducted during a two-week study tour in Japan, participants formed teams made up of members from the Japanese and Indian sides. The teams conducted fieldwork around Nagoya to come up with the new business ideas.

On March 17, the last day of the workshop, each team presented their business plan to solve inconveniences related to aging, disibilities, or disasters. After proposing different ideas, they answered questions from a panel of experts about topics such as feasibility, uniqueness, and how their ideas compared to existing technologies. The event provided all participants an opportunity to think deeply about about how to create new products and services.
