Nagoya University hosts 23 students from North Carolina State University for six-week program

From May 11 to June 20, 2025, Nagoya University hosted 23 students from the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University (NC State), one of Nagoya University’s strategic partner universities. This exchange marked the first implementation of a short-term faculty-led program developed in collaboration with NC State.

During their six-week stay, the students attended business classes taught by NC State faculty and took part in a wide range of activities, including company visits, lectures by Nagoya University faculty, cultural experiences such as calligraphy and tea ceremony, exchange events with Nagoya University students, and a study trip to Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture.

Participants shared comments such as, “It was my first time traveling abroad, so I was nervous at first, but I gradually got used to the environment and was able to enjoy my time at Nagoya University,” and “It was an unforgettable and deeply valuable experience, and I am so glad I had the chance to be part of this program.”

A faculty member who accompanied the group from NC State praised the initiative, saying, “I witnessed tremendous growth in the students over these six weeks. It was the first time we conducted this program at Nagoya University, and it was a great success. I would very much like to see this program happen again next year.”

Nagoya University students who supported the visitors also benefited greatly, gaining global perspectives, improving their communication, leadership, and collaboration skills through their interactions with the American students.

This program not only deepened the international partnership between Nagoya University and North Carolina State University but also provided a valuable opportunity to nurture students’ global awareness.
