Congratulations on Ayuko Suzuki (Graduate of Nagoya University) Qualifying for Rio Olympic Games

Ms. Ayuko Suzuki, who graduated from the School of Economics at Nagoya University in 2014, won first place in the women’s 10,000-meter race with a time of 31 minutes and 18.73 seconds at the 100th Japan National Athletics Championships held on June 24 (Fri) through 26 (Sun), 2016. This win enables her to participate in the women’s 10,000-meter race at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She has also booked a ticket to the women’s 5,000-meter race.

Ms. Suzuki and her coach, Mr. Masahiko Takahashi, made a courtesy visit to Nagoya University President on June 28 (Tue). She expressed her wishes toward the Olympics, saying "In Rio, I hope to exert all my strength and run in a way that can be stimulating to younger members."
