Nagoya University holds entrance ceremony for Spring 2025

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Nagoya University held its entrance ceremony for the 2025 academic year at Toyoda Auditorium.

Just before the official start of the ceremony, the Nagoya University Mixed Chorus performed to welcome the audience. President Naoshi Sugiyama and distinguished guests then entered the stage, accompanied by music from the Nagoya University Symphony Orchestra.

During the ceremony, President Sugiyama welcomed the incoming students with a congratulatory address and introduced the guests that joined him on stage. Next, a representative of the new students delivered a pledge on behalf of the class.

This was followed by speeches from two distinguished guests, Dr. Ryōji Noyori (Honorary Director-General of the Center for Research and Development Strategy at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and Distinguished Professor at Nagoya University) and Mr. Masaharu Shibata (Executive Advisor at NGK INSULATORS, LTD., and President of the Nagoya University Alumni Association). The ceremony concluded after these addresses.

The ceremony was livestreamed online, allowing incoming students and their families to watch remotely. A recording is available on the Japanese site.
