Nagoya University Student Wins Medals at 27th Summer Universiade

On Sunday, July 7th, Ayuko Suzuki, a senior in the School of Economics, won the women’s 10,000m at the Summer Universiade held in Kazan, Russia. Her winning time was 32:54:17. She also took home the bronze in the 5000m with a time of 15:51:47.

The Summer Universiade is an international athletic competition for current university and graduate school students, or alumni graduating the previous year, aged 17 to 28 years of age as of January 1st. It is organized by Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire, and this year’s meet was held in Russia from Saturday, July 6th to Wednesday, July 17th.

Ms. Suzuki paid a courtesy call to President Hamaguchi on Tuesday, July 16th.
