Nagoya University selected for JST initiative to recruit global talent

Nagoya University has been selected by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) as one of eleven universities to receive support through the “EXcellence Program for Engaging Research Talent – Japan” (EXPERT-J) initiative. Nagoya University submission is titled “NU Nexus Project for Research Enhancement via International Talent Circulation” (tentative translation).

The purpose of this program is to enhance Japan’s research abilities through the intake of talented young Japanese and overseas researchers at Japan’s top-level universities, offering them globally competitive conditions, and thereby preparing the country to increase its contribution to the international circulation of brain power. Through this program, Nagoya University aims to dramatically accelerate its current projects, such as the enhancement of its research capacity through its program for the recruitment and development of outstanding overseas researchers, as well as its strategy to internationally circulate intellectual talent. In doing so, Nagoya University strives to become a world-class research university that meets the demands of our current society.
