In ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025, Nagoya University ranked 39th globally (2nd in Japan) in the Physics category. It also performed well in the Aerospace Engineering category, ranking 51st–75th globally (1st in Japan).
ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) evaluates universities across 57 subjects spanning the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. The rankings are based on nine indicators grouped into five categories: World-Class Faculty, World-Class Research Output, High-Quality Research, Research Impact, and International Collaboration.
