On October 10, Nagoya University (Naoshi Sugiyama, President) signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with the City of Nagoya (Ichiro Hirosawa, Mayor).
The agreement aims for mutual, sustainable development, and strives—through close collaboration—to boost regional revitalization and improve local services across a variety of aspects of daily life, thereby attracting people domestically and from abroad.
The pillars of the agreement are “the promotion of multicultural coexistence in the community,” “the promotion of industry-academia-government collaboration in surveys and research, disaster prevention awareness, and human resource development to improve regional resilience,” and “the promotion of innovation, including support for startups.” To implement these items, the city and university will work together by effectively leveraging the resources of each entity.
Under this agreement, Nagoya University and the City of Nagoya will deepen collaboration across multiple fields such as education, welfare, the environment, and urban development, aiming to create a Nagoya that is bursting with appeal, attracting people and businesses from around the world.
