The Nagoya University National Composites Center Receives the 2017 Green Nanotechnology Award

The Nagoya University National Composites Center (NCC) received the Research Project Award (in the category of Green Nanotechnology) of nano tech 2017, the 16th International Nanotechnology Exhibition & Conference, held in Tokyo Big Sight, Japan, from February 15 (Wed) through 17 (Fri).

Award winners are selected from exhibitors at nano tech 2017 according to research fields of groundbreaking and innovative technologies and products. The award ceremony was held at the same site on February 17 (Fri), 2017, during the period of nano tech 2017.

The NCC’s project, Challenge to weight reduction of automobiles by thermoplastic (CFRP), was awarded for the development of inflammable carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRP), which can replace materials, such as high-tensile steel plate and aluminum, currently used for vehicle structural components, and contribute to a significant reduction in automobile weight.
