Prof. Uchida of the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences Receives the 2015 National Commendation for Invention

Professor Koji Uchida of Nagoya University’s Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences has received the "21st Century Invention Incentive Prize" at the 2015 National Commendations for Invention event.

This commendation is presented by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation every year to persons who have accomplished extremely excellent inventions full of originality, persons who have rendered distinguished services in the working of inventions, and persons who have greatly contributed to the promotion of excellent technology and to the guidance and development, with the aim of contributing to the progress and development of science and technologies in Japan.

The 21st Century Invention Incentive Prize is classified as a Category 2 award, which is awarded to small- and medium-sized enterprises, venture firms, universities, and public research institutes. Prof. Uchida received the prize for the "Invention of disease diagnosis technology using autoantibodies."

Nagoya University President Seiichi Matsuo also received the 21st Century Invention Contribution Award as the university’s representative.

President Matsuo and Professor Uchida attended the award ceremony held at Hotel Okura Tokyo on June 17 (Wed), 2015.
