Professor Motonobu Goto of the Graduate School of Engineering at Nagoya University has been selected to receive the "Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award" of the 15th (2016) Green and Sustainable Chemistry (GSC) Awards.
The GSC Awards are presented by the Japan Association for Chemical Innovation (JACI) for outstanding achievements that have contributed to the promotion of GSC, conferring the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" for achievements that contributed to the development of industrial technologies, the "Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award" for achievements that contributed to the development and promotion of academics, and the "Minister of the Environment Award" for achievements that contributed to the comprehensive reduction of environmental impacts.
GSC refers to chemistry that is friendly to humans and the environment, and supports the development of a sustainable society.
Prof. Goto’s prize-winning research is about the "Development of separation/reaction processes for natural products and environment-related substances utilizing supercritical fluids."
