Master’s programs

G30 Master’s programs

Since October 2011, Nagoya University has been offering international programs as part of the Global 30 project. These are educational programs in which international students and Japanese returnee students can obtain degrees by only taking classes held in English.

Young Leaders’ Program

The Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) at Nagoya University is a prestigious one-year master’s course in Healthcare Administration, conducted entirely in English. Established in 2003, the program aims to cultivate future national leaders in healthcare from participating countries, fostering international collaboration and contributing to the development of healthcare systems worldwide.

Hosted by the Graduate School of Medicine, the YLP provides an extensive education in healthcare administration, medical economics, and medical statistics. The curriculum is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in healthcare policy-making, management of medical institutions, and public health initiatives. Each year, approximately 10 students are selected for this program.

Eligible candidates are administrators, up to 40 years old, from participating countries, with a minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare policy, administration of medical institutions, or public health activities. Applicants should hold a college degree or equivalent in medicine, public health or science and demonstrate potential for future leadership roles in their respective countries.

Applicants are accepted from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The YLP is part of the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program, which covers tuition, provides a monthly stipend, and includes travel expenses to and from Japan. This support ensures that participants can fully engage in their studies and cultural experiences during their time at Nagoya University.
